Working at the Hospital
Your first day
Your Contact Person will meet you in a place convenient for both. Please be punctual. He or she will show you the way to your place of work. Then you will be presented to an Attending Physician who might in turn assign you a Tutor, which we call here Preceptor. Depending on where you are working, we will show you the place where you will get your lunch.

Etiquette
Punctuality
: Working hours depend on the Department. Most of them start working at 07:00. You must be there even if your Tutor is not on time. Most Tutors you will be working with do not receive a salary for teaching, they only get what the hospital pays them for work. So please be considerate, show discipline, respect and always be motivated and interested, because that is the only way we can pay them back as students.

Uniform: All students and interns are required to use white uniforms in the hospital. Your uniform should always be neat and tidy. You may wear white sneakers/tennis shoes. If your clerkship is in surgery, you may wear scrubs. In the Pediatrics Department, a gown with animal designs can be worn. Avoid wearing jewelry.

Addressing your Tutor: It is a custom for patients and Hospital Staff to call medical students “Doctors”. Do it the same way when addressing your Tutor: call them by “Doctor” followed by their last name. Always.
